Thanks for that clarification Tim. We are planning to use Moodle. So I am trying to do my homework and go through every how to video, tutorial, post, online course available on Moodle. I will need a day's time to go through these. Thanks for posting these!

Philip, and everyone really, excellent to meet you, to see people and experience a great community spirit. On the train down I was joking as I started to write a blog that (as we were joined by someone else from Manchester who had heard our repeated expressions of the term Moodle) Star trek fans who meet on the train are trekkies, then sure Moodle fans must be Moodies. The overtones of Goth in that don't work really, but it led to thinking about how much more upbeat, hope-laden and enthusiastic our Moodle community is - compared, shall we say, to a leading competitors "Do's".

Have to say I found the two days - whist excellent - tiring. I know there were a great many presentations and speakers, and that you had to cram them in somehow, but the 3 speakers in an hour format felt a little rushed.

One way some conferences - and I'm from a Linux background on this one - deal with this, is to stratify the presentations to a greater degree. So - less technical, community based 'this is how we use Moodle' - have a series of presentations, and more 'I want a technical breakdown of exactly how you did that' type presentations have a series too. Needs a lot more rooms, but it allows for a greater degree of tailoring.

I also noticed on another post - sorry, lost it now or I would have linked it in here, that there was some discussion about breakout workshops. These work brilliantly, enthusiasm is a truly great thing, but having someone sit there and show you how they did something - whilst getting you to do it - works like nothing else. If this would cause ire amongst our Moodle training provider brethren - well - opportunity to show my why paid-for tuition is better.

I think perhaps the nub of the matter was shown when Martin D asked how many attendees had been to last years event, and how many were fresh - and it seemed clear to me 2/3 of the attendees were brand new. Perhaps given the growth - Moodlemoot needs to grow too.

All in in - excellent keynotes and some good breakouts, well handled location and a most genial host. I left the conference feeling upbeat and hopeful.

thanks for all your time and effort.
